Welcome! My name is Danielle Varns. I grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona and I earned my Bachelors Degree in Physiological Sciences from the University of Arizona in 2009. I later moved to Des Moines, Iowa to attend graduate school where I earned my Masters in Education from Drake University in 2013. I also hold my Reading and Language Arts Specialist license. I am an issue based teacher who places an emphasis on learning and problem solving within real world contexts that prepare students for life in the twenty-first century. I use an integrated approach to teaching and have a strong interest in the use of educational technology to enhance student learning. I have experience teaching and working with children of all ages and levels of experience. I’ve had the privilege of traveling all over the world and especially enjoy working with students from diverse backgrounds and building upon their unique experiences. My teaching philosophy is greatly influenced by my belief in differentiation and creativity in the classroom. I believe it’s an exciting time for education and I’m thrilled to be a part of it!
